Gavin wins Ivor Novello Award

Gavin's Horn Concerto wins the Best Orchestral Composition Ivor Novello Award. The judges described the piece as “a striking and memorable work that pushes the boundaries of traditional concertos, its originality and sophisticated orchestration create a compelling and beautifully crafted piece.”

This is Gavin's second Ivor Novello win, previously winning in 2019 for his Trombone Concerto, The Book of Miracles. The debut album of Gavin's orchestral works will be released in February 2025 and will include a recording of the Horn Concerto and his cantata The Faerie Bride. The allbum is being released on the Nimbus Lyritta label and will be available to purchase, download and stream from all reputable outlets.
