Horn Concerto Shortlisted for Ivor Novello Award

Gavin's Horn Concerto has been shortlisted for an Ivor Novello Award in the Orchestral Works category. The concerto, described as 'an immediate hit' was premiered in January by virtuoso horn player Ben Goldscheider and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Jaime Martin. It received it's Dutch premiere the month after with Philharmonie Zuidphilharmonic conducted by Duncan Ward.
The piece is love letter to Gavin's own instrument and the woodlands and forests of his youth.
The award ceremony will take place on the 12th November at the BFI on London's South Bank
